Keep safe and legal with these progressive courses. We've been operating in manned aviation for over 20 years and have built a real 'safety first' culture. To be able to issue CAA qualifications in the UK you must be an RAE (Recognised Assessment Entity). Richard Sims is an instructor for the CAA RAE no.832 Consortiq. This means he can train the A2CofC and the GVC using the Consortiq syllabus through to examination and certificate issue. Other courses are by Sims UAV.
This course is aimed at anyone interested in starting their drone journey. It can also be purchased as a gift for people who have recently bought a drone and need a confident start. It's a practical course of 2 hours at our safe flying site in Hampshire where you'll be introduced to the drones functionality and fly exercises under supervision from the instructor.
The A1 and A3 course assumes you already have a sub 250g drone and are looking to operate safely and maybe even commercially. It is aimed at individuals and companies such as Estate Agents and Roofing Companies that will need well trained and safe operators. This course is in person at our training site in Hampshire or at your local office.
The A2 CofC (A2 category Certificate of Competency) is the next stage of CAA qualification. It is a mix of online and lessons over Zoom. There is an exam at the end and once passed you'll be able to fly in the A2 open category. The qualification lasts for 5 years.
If you want to work in the drone industry for yourself or another company then you're probably going to require both the A2CofC and the GVC (check with us first). This combined course starts with online modules for you to work through at your own pace. Once complete and you feel ready we'll do 2 days of training over Zoom and a third 1/2 day for the practical flight test (PFT). Both the qualifications last for 5 years.
